Man Shot for Not Allowing Acquaintance Ride His Bike, Gunman Charged with Attempted Murder
ZEPHYRHILLS – A Zephyrhills man is behind bars today after he shot an acquaintance with a handgun because the victim wouldn’t let him ride his bike.
On Monday, 33-year-old Kyle James Fowler was in the front yard of the victim’s residence, located at 37850 Newal Ave, when he demanded the victim give him his bicycle. When the man refused, Fowler said, “I’ve got a pistol, you’re not going to stop me.” The victim again refused to give up his bicycle, so Fowler struck him in the face with the handgun and then shot him in the back. Fowler then fled the scene on the victim’s Mongoose bicycle.
The victim suffered injuries to his face and a gunshot wound to the shoulder, The victim’s identity has not been released by officials.
The following day, Investigators located Fowler at a residence on Merrick Road, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Fowler is charged with Felony Attempted Murder and is currently held without bond.
