  • I come from Boston, we had vehicle inspections,I was also a mechanic at a shop that did vehicle inspections. You had to be qualified to do the inspection, there were two parts, mechanical and I personally think the ten minutes it to to check a front end, tires, all running lights brakes and emergency brakes and tires is definitely something that could be done. As far as the emissions test that was just a way to screw people,i didn’t agree with it. But while doing a basic front end inspection and have a ball joint break in your face and almost get killed from the front spring dislodging, I think its nessesary

  • Now those same idiots can waste more time to correct my spelling just. They do when Tom Lemmons makes errors in spelling. If their were so many grammar graduates out there why don’t you get jobs teaching all of us ignorant people how to spell.

  • First of all, the idiot who said the tires were bad and different sizes just by driving by…. You should get a job with Forensics. That claim is absolutely ridiculous. How can you tell, the tires all looked the same and the vehicles was not a run down piece of shit unlike many you see on the road. This vehicle looked well maintained. Also vehicle inspections do not check your tie rods, they check for emissions, lights, horn, and tires. They are not mechanics and do not make determinations on mechanical issues. Some remarks are just ridiculous. Some of you just don’t think. You just want to say something just to be heard. The conclusions some of you have made is simple unfounded and over thought. You should be glad there is no inspection here in Florida for if their were some of you may not be driving yourselves. Do not pass judgement without soled proof. Make opinions but don’t make conclusions.

  • It’s not his job to maintain a company vehicle first off, secondly seat belts have been known to snap under extreme pressure. If anything the company he works for is liable! Whatever the circumstances are, praying for the man and his family through this tough time, may God watch over yall!

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 10:46 pm

  • Just like that mustang that crashed. Poor vehicle maint. There are some good shops out there. Hope he’s okay. Hard way to learn how important it is to maintain your vehicle for the safety of others and ones self.

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 7:25 pm
  • Everyone is always so quick to judge and speculate. Prayers for the driver and his family.

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 7:07 pm
  • His tie rod broke and it went out of control causing it to flip he was not on the phone stfu

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 7:00 pm
    • another good point as to why this state should have vehicle inspections! like another reader stated, this would have been caught , replace the tie rod and been safe but too many people dont maintain their vehicles and cause accidents like this thank god no one else was involved.

      Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 10:01 pm
      • Really they would catch a tie rod? The Government can’t even balance a budget or catch people on the boarder, but they can find a tie rod that is going to break?

        Thursday, 6 August 2015, 2:15 am
  • He wasn’t wearing his seat belt and was injected our of the vehicle!!!

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 6:53 pm

      Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 6:56 pm
  • That is my best friend. I just love how spring hill jumps to conclusions and run their jaws. You never know what happened to it. That vehicle is the work vehicle for his shop. He also doesn’t like talking and driving. (hang up and drive) Such judgemental people it’s a disgrace. I am estatic he is still alive. He is a great person, damn good hard worker, first time father to brand new baby girl and loving spouse.

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 6:30 pm
    • Nikki – we’re praying that he’s okay.

      Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 9:24 pm
  • Hang up and drive ! Unreal around here

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 4:49 pm
  • I passed that, another reason for vehicle inspections, no tread on all four tires, all tires, look to be different size’s, Guessing the brakes needed to be looked at, they need to get these trash vehicles off the roads, to avoid situations like these, in the long run it saves lives., Prayers to the injured driver.

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 4:19 pm
    • BITE YOUR TONGUE! We suffered through vehicle inspections back in the ’80’s, it was a joke. You spent hours waiting in line to be turned down because of something totally stupid! The Governor was in his limo when he realized his sticker was out. When he waited 6 hours, in line, to be cited for worn windshield wipers, he went straight back to Tallahassee and abolished inpections! The only smart thing Claude Kirk ever did!

      Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 6:10 pm
      • The inspections are up to the police, and they are not doing their job, drive around these roads and look around, It make’s you wonder how some of the cars and trucks are actually moving, no brake, bad tires, come on, if they hit you, You’d sue Gator!, only to find out they don’t have insurance, and no license

        Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 7:12 pm
      • I remember Claude Kirk (1967-1971) I was in elementary school then and the teachers went on strike.
Bob Graham (1979-1987) halted MV inspections because it cost over $20M (back then) to operate the stations. Faulty equipment falls to officers on patrol….and I would add – personal responsibility.
I remember waiting in gas lines for sure…Askew (1971-1979)
And this concludes todays stroll down memory lane.

        Thursday, 6 August 2015, 7:50 am
  • No other vehicles involved?

    Wednesday, 5 August 2015, 3:15 pm
    • I don’t see how this is on interent before family even knows if he is gunna be ok.. my nephew..
