BROOKSVILLE – 911 operators handled an unusual call yesterday, after they witnessed a domestic dispute taking place in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office on Cortez Blvd.
According to reports, 41-year-old Shawn Anthony Crown and his girlfriend 37-year-old Corina Michelle Fisher were seen walking on Cortez Blvd, when Crown grabbing Fisher’s arms in an attempt to keep her from walking away.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene, where they found Fisher to be visibly upset and claiming that Crown grabbed her and wouldn’t let her leave. Crown was ordered to the crown and taken into custody without incident.
Fisher claims that Shawn drove her to the Sheriff’s Office against her will; when she tried to leave, Crown became physical and attempted force her back into the car.
Crown admitted to grabbing his girlfriend by the arms but says it was an attempt to force her to get help with her drug problem. Crown went on to say that Fisher’s purse was full of drugs and that she had thrown it into the woods prior to their arrival.
Deputies searched the area and discovered a small amount of marijuana, two pipes that tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine, and several prescription narcotics.
Fisher was placed into custody and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia. She remains behind bars – held on $1,500 bond.
Crown is charged with Domestic Battery and held on a $500 bond.
