Missing Elderly Woman Found Alive Tangled Among Thick Brush
SPRING HILL – Great news to report tonight, after a missing elderly woman who walked away from her home on Hunley Lane has been found alive and in good condition.
85-year-old Patricia Fanning endured the blistering heat for over 9 hours today, while deputies from several agencies frantically searched neighboring streets, a golf course and wooded areas to no avail.
With the use of the Sheriff’s Office Air Unit, Ms. Fanning was located just after dark, behind 2543 Glendridge Drive in a heavily wooded area.
Firefighters were forced to cutaway thick brush to access Ms. Fanning and free her from the tangled web of trees and scrubs.
Minutes later, Ms. Fanning was seen walking on her own accord out of the woods and into an awaiting ambulance.
If not for a video surveillance system installed in Ms. Fanning’s home, her family, who monitor her activities from Citrus County, would have had no idea she was missing.
