Missing Park Ranger’s Boyfriend Arrested in North Florida on Arson, Armed Burglary Charges

HAMILTON COUNTY, FL – A spokesperson for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of 42-year-old Jeffrey Michael Morrison, the boyfriend wanted for questioning in the disappearance of Florida Park Ranger Mitzi Marie Babb.
According to Spokesperson Denise Moloney, Morrison was taken into custody Thursday at the White Plains Agricultural Weigh Station on I-75, on charges of Armed Burglary and Attempted Arson out of Peach County, Georgia. Morrison’s last known address is listed a 390 Alpenrosen Strasse in Helen, Georgia.
Moloney says Detectives are in Hamilton County and will be working with all jurisdiction regarding Miti Babb’s disappearance.
A massive search is currently underway in the area of Croom Motorcycle area and the surrounding Withlacoochee State Forest.
An underwater search team has been seen in the area of the Silver Lake Campground and they are believed to be there again today.
