Multi-Agency Pursuit Leads to Arrest, Suspect Rams FHP Patrol Car – VIDEO

HERNANDO – An early morning, multi-agency pursuit led to the arrest of a Dade City Man, after he broke into a residence on Hamilton Road and stole two gas cans.

According to Pasco County Officials, Hernando County Deputies were conducting a residential burglary investigation that occurred last night, where sources say a woman’s purse, car keys, and Cadillac were stolen from her residence.

Pasco County Deputies located the vehicle, while responded to a hit and run, and began pursuing the vehicle.  After the suspect reached speeds of well over 100 mph, Deputies called off the pursuit.

The Florida Highway Patrol eventually located the vehicle and began another pursuit. That’s when the suspect made a u-turn in the roadway and crashed head-on with the patrol vehicle. The Trooper was not injured, and the pursuit continued.

A Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Air Unit captured the pursuit on video until the suspect surrendered and was arrested. (CLICK HERE TO WATCH VIDEO).

The suspect, 25-year-old Joshua Douglas Norris is charged with Grand Theft Auto, Burglary, and Fleeing to Elude and Aggravated Battery in Pasco County, Aggravated Battery and Fleeing to Elude by the Florida Highway Patrol, and Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Grand Theft Auto, and Grand Theft out of Hernando County.

Norris is held on $59,000 bond in Pasco County. The Sheriff Office has not released a statement on the bond amounts that will be applied to their cases.

A Texas woman was also arrested early this morning and charged with Aggravated Battery and Kidnapping. Ironically, the suspect has been identified as 46-year-old Glenda Michelle Norris but officials have not confirmed the relation to Joshua Norris or if the her charges are related to this morning’s incident. A full report is expected to be released by Hernando County Officials on Monday.

    • Pot had no role in this. Maybe if the authorities would do a better job getting drugs off the streets and made less avail around here for our youth to get ahold of. These situations would be less frequent.

  • Was it an Escalade by any chance? I was on my way to work that morning when I saw headlights come on out of nowhere on the 98 bypassed between 301 and 50. Made a upturn behind me and then watched the lead lights suddenly disappear shortly after. Not turned off the road but killed the lights.

    • I think if you have not walked a mile in his shoes you should think twice before putting an idiotic opinion out there. If the local law enforcement and the judicial system would listen to ones who know there is more of a problem then jail would fix and maybe offer a alternative other then jail. Possibly rehab or mental evaluations and inhouse care verses just adult rooming houses.( Such as a jail cell) where they are to lay and obey 24/7 there would be differences made.
