Multi-Vehicle Crash Causes Substantial Damage But No Injuries Reported

BROOKSVILLE – A multi-vehicle crash left several cars damaged and a downed light pole, but thankfully no injuries reported.

The accident occurred on Cortez Blvd earlier this evening near Spring Hill Health and Rehab in the eastbound lanes.

That’s where officials say two vehicles collided, causing a pickup truck to corine off the roadway, through a light pole and then into the side of at least one parked car.

There were no injuries reported but damage is substantial.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

  • @ FLACRACKER….You got it wrong! You Florida drivers don’t know how to drive. Lena W took the words right out of my mouth. Florida drivers can’t drive for beans. I’m so glad I learned how to drive in New York City. Like the saying goes…If you can drive New York you can drive anywhere!

    • Don’t know who says that except New Yorkers. Unfortunately northerners must have different driving rules because I have been following an awful lot of them who seem to think that the left lane is a driving lane not a passing lane and turn signals are options. There are signs on 19 that day slower traffic keep right..there than awful lot of out of state tags that think it means keep right where you are.
Why do you come to Florida and then make fun of and degrade the locals? I would rather be a Florida Cracker, raised with manners than someone who resorts to name calling in an attempt to win an argument.

    • Florida drivers can’t drive huh? If you don’t like our driving, take your Yankee self back to New York. Your presence wasn’t welcome here to begin with.

  • I would settle for a crummy cardboard sign to keep out the idiots who cut through Woodland Waters Blvd. off 19 doing 50 mph.

    • Hey Cracker, Grow up…. Why do ignorant people like you always blame an auto on Yankee Drivers… Your the same kind of person who blames the gun and not the person… You probably also blame Trump because New Yorkers are moving down here… You should have the ID of FLACRACKERASS…….

  • 50 between the High Point stop light & Mariner is a major death trap especially during season.
East bound is medical offices after medical offices, new restaurants, Health South Rehab, additional restaurants, a high volume Wawa Gas station and than sucicide corner, 50 & Mariner. Going west bound almost identical businesses + the Aldi Store with seniors and snowbirds having no clue to get in & out.
God knows when the county/state department of transportation will do something like an additional stop light at the Aldi entrance?

    • With 50 and Mariner, when the construction, the “No U turn” sign was never replaced on the westbound direction of 50 on the east side of Mariner (get that…think about it). Now, people making a U turn on 50, there, cause near misses with east bounders on 50 and right turn on red turners on Mariner.

    • D.O.T won’t put a light at Aldi’s because it’s too close to the High Point light. They have regulations on how close together the lights can be in proximity to each other.

    • They need access more on and off the highway every 20 feet. Access roads are less expensive and better at eliminating accidents without causing more traffic problems. Access roads.
