  • This does not surprise me one bit. This intersection, as with most on US 19 is horrible. The construction now requires you to make a right on 19 going north from the east side of 19 which I think is a good idea yet even with cement barriers in place to require this right people disregard and go around to make the left. On major highways like US 19 there should be no going straight across to make a left, particularly in a long stretch like the one here where it’s open highway with speeds of 70+ Timber Pines all the way to Forest Oaks. Traffic is too heavy and too fast and what you end up with is a real life game of Frogger, (Crossy Roads for the younger generation), with real life consequences. Yes, it is a pain to make a right to have to make a U turn to come back south but it is a hell of a lot safer. What is decidedly more inconvenient than that however is my family or your family ending up in the hospital or the coroner’s van because some schmuck didn’t want to play by the rules. I am not saying this is what happened today and I do wish those involved a speedy recovery.
