Multiple Pit Bulls Seized by Animal Control After Owner Allegedly Beat Them with Shovel
BROOKSVILLE – Multiple Pit Bulls were seized by Animal Control Officers Thursday, after witnesses called the Sheriff’s Office to report that the owner was beating them with a shovel.
According to officials, Animal Enforcement Officer Mandy Rowe responded 8389 Evergreen Ave on December 11th, in reference to an animal complaint.
Several complainants contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that 61-Year-old Ronald Demille Jr. was beating his Pit Bulls with chairs and other objects, because they were fighting.
One witness told Rowe that they observed Demille hit the dogs with a shovel several times and that it wasn’t the first time that they had witnessed the abuse.
On December 15th, Rowe returned to the residence to the area to speak with three additional complainants regarding Demille’s alleged abuse.
10 days after the initial complaint, Rowe returned to Demille’s residence and placed him into custody on three counts of Animal Cruelty. Demille remains behind bars on a $3,000 bond.
A total of 10 Pit Bulls were seized by Animal Control and Demille has been ordered not to have contact with any animals.
