Neighbors on Edge After Short Standoff with Alleged Armed Suicidal Man
SPRING HILL –Residents living on Regent Lane were a little on edge this afternoon, when several Sheriff’s Deputies surrounded a home between Lema Drive and Marysville Street and prepared for a possible standoff.
According to unconfirmed reports, a man who allegedly owned several firearms and body armor threatened, “not to be taken alive,” after making suicidal statements.
Deputies blocked off adjacent streets and notified school transportation of the situation, so that parents would be aware of possible changes to drop off locations.
About an hour into the “standoff,” a male subject exited the residence and surrendered to deputies without incident.
Officials did not comment on the situation until it’s conclusion and only stated, “There was never a standoff.”
