New Charges for Vehicle Burglary Suspect Already Behind Bars

BROOKSVILLE – A Spring Hill man is behind bars today, after officials say he is suspected of committing several vehicle burglaries in the Springwood Estates Subdivision.

According to reports, 21-year-old Joshua Rodriguez, who was already behind bars for committing an armed burglary in November, admitted to breaking into several vehicles to steal GPS devices. During an interview with investigators, Rodriguez stated that he had stolen some of the devices from vehicles parked on Black Oak Trail. Those devices were located inside Rodriguez’ truck and returned to at least two theft victims.

Rodriguez now faces two counts of Unarmed Burglary, in addition to the previous Armed Burglary Charge. Rodriguez remains behind bars – held on $16,000 bond.

  • Don’t even waste time educating Kelli…she is obviously a low information voter and nothing will ever sway her opinion.

  • if he has 2 jobs marie why is he stealing? was some one holding a gun to his head the entire time? No decent excuse. He did wrong and now has to face the music. There have been times I really needed money to provide but Ive walked to work miles and in rain until I got my car fixed. If he has an addiction, he needs to seek treatment asap. He made bad choices and decisions. He is lucky he did not come across some vengeful property owner.

  • He’s lucky he didn’t try breaking into an occupied car with an armed person. These worthless slimebags are getting desperate, one day they’ll break into the wrong car, or the wrong house, and they’ll get taken out in a body bag. One by one, day by day, citizens are becoming smarter, and they’re becoming armed. We know the rules and the laws… They don’t, break into an occupied home or vehicle with a trained, and armed owner you’re as good as dead.

  • yeah if you look the kid up hes been in jail since november 13 so no chance this kid attacked anyone on christmas eve

  • I know for a fact this kid had 2 jobs we can talk all s**t here and call him names. But none of us know the truth behind why he did the things he did. He will go to court and have a trial for his crimes so instead of wishing him to be sent away for ever why don’t we hope he learns from his mistakes and becomes a better person. Because none of us are free of wrong doing in one form or another. He didn’t attack or hurt anyone. Yes we all work hard for what we have but there are much worse crimes everyday. He has been in jail for 50+ days so he didn’t attack anyone on Christmas Eve. Maybe if we as parents tried listening to our kids, disciplining them we would have a better place to call home. But now instead of raising our kids we drop them off at: the movies, roller skating, etc. to get them out of our hair!

  • John Says, Very well said my friend. We will do what is necessary to protect our selves and LOVED ONES. I say to make room in the jails, send the trash to Syria and set them free. We can take bets who comes back a better person.

  • Kelli, may the New Year bring you some Brains….If the young had jobs they would be able to buy their own GPS…. About the Gun issue, Don’t go their Missy, their are many RESPONSIBLE LICENSEDGUN OWNERS out here, you will never hear of any of us taking advantage of that privilege and going out committing crimes. When have you seen a crime committed where a gun was used and that person had a license to carry? None of these low life Scum Bags who commit such crimes will ever have a license because they are CONVICTED FELONS!!!!!!!
