Officials Confirm Human Remains Those of Missing 20-Year-Old Destiny Lee Aaron

HUDSON (PASCO) – Pasco County Officials have confirmed that human remains discovered in a wooded area on Tuesday are those of missing 20-year-old Destiny Lee Aaron.

Officials say dental records helped positively identify Aaron as the deceased.

The cause of death has not yet been determined but officials do not suspect foul play at this time.

ORIGINAL REPORT (12/27/2017):

HUDSON (PASCO) – Pasco County Detectives are investigating the discovery of human remains that were discovered in the area of 12800 Jayton Ave.

According to officials, Deputies responded to a wooded area on Jayton Ave around 6:00 p.m. last night, where they confirmed the discovery.

Due to poor lighting, officials secured the scene and began their investigation early this morning.

There are unconfirmed reports that the remains might be those of Destiny Lee Aaron, the 20-year-old woman who went missing on April 1st from her residence on Placid Road.

Aaron and her live-in boyfriend were involved in a dispute over a child custody hearing that was scheduled for April 4th on the night of her disappearance.

Placid Road is just one block south of Jayton Ave.

We will bring more on this story as it develops.

  • What puzzles me is that LEO did not conduct a cadaver dog area search when she went missing. Yes, I know, they say they did not have enough evidence to take it to that level yet. They interviewed the prime suspect, but let him off the hook (until now) since there was no Corpus Delicti (until now). Looking at past cases like this, when a person goes missing for no apparent reason and later turns up deceased, the body is almost always found within a half mile of the original reported scene. Any good forensic psychologist, profiler and the FBI will state that very fact. I am not saying the local LEO did not do their jobs well, as at the time, she already had a history of lawlessness and they tend to assume the person has probably just left the area on their own for personal reasons. Since no obvious evidence of a crime being committed at the time of her reported being missing, agencies usually will just allow time to pass to see what turns up. This time, however, it turned out for the worst. Hopefully, the coroner will be able to determine the cause of death so the case may be resolved. There is a lot of speculation among her friends and family and certain persons of interest are being called out, but our justice system must be allowed to prevail and make the final determination.

  • 20 year old gets in a huge fight with her boyfriend and is dead in the woods shortly after and need to be identified by dental records. Conclusion, died of natural causes. Is there a person on this earth that believes a woman fighting for her child, wanders off to a heavily wooded area, sits down and just dies? The fact is the sheriffs office like many of these cases deep down knows reality but due to the fact there was just bones there probably due to animals, that basically theres no solid evidence to link a crime to a person so its a cold case and since they cant speculate even if its logical and reasonable, they just shrug their arms and move on. I feel awful for the parents losing their daughter and the child losing its mother. Its a terrible tragedy.

    • I’ve read many cases and although the Sheriff’s Office may know more information they just aren’t saying anything. Sometimes it’s best if they make sure the investigation is totally complete before they charge someone with murder. I am sure they will do their best and at this time are only reporting what they feel is necessary to report. Just my opinion.

  • A little strange that she was missing for a month, and has now be found near her residence. Shoddy police work or no? You would think a K-9 unit would have her there VERY quickly.
