  • Sadly, the driver was blocking the right of way, if he indeed was parked there with no hazard flashers he will be cited for blocking the right of way. Truth is, Grandma Smith would have no idea if he was moving or not without hazards, and according to D.O.T. Regs, anything more than 10 minutes, delivery or not, his triangles should have been out. Find a safe place to pull over and park, or don’t!

  • The truck driver would only be liable if he was parked in a ‘No Parking’ zone, deliveries only zone, or if he was truly obstructing flow of traffic.

  • Would the truck driver be liable?

    Thursday, 4 August 2016, 3:23 pm
    • The truck driver might get a ticket for illegal parking, but I don’t think he will be liable, if you hit something thats not moving its your fault, it didn’t hit you. You are supposed be paying attention to where you are going and be able to stop if something is in the road.

  • Well someone wasn’t paying attention….., texting?

    • No texting, no anything and the not old lady was paying attention!! You could not even tell the Semi was sitting still parked parked right in the middle of the road because there were no flashers on either. Who parks an 18 wheeler in the middle of the road and leaves it there?? The driver of the illegally and irresponsibly parked semi was indeed ticketed. The road is not safe as it. Providing no side shoulder for emergencies in either lanes direction, their are way to many accidents to be so carelessly endangering the lives of so many drivers . Worse, are the two fatalities that took place just the day before.
