  • If the USPS funded for Segways it would work then to have mail boxes on the houses just like in Jersey. It would probably be better in this heat. The breeze would probably cool them off. Some states have mail carriers using Segways and it seems to work out well.

  • Actually mail trucks are hit more often then you would think. how drivers miss the big white tin box on wheels with the flashing lights blows my mind.
Mail Carriers literally have to avoid being hit, I think other drivers see mail trucks and think $$$$ signs. Hate to disappoint you but USPS doesn’t have any money and they are not insured enough to compare like “Winning the Lottery”
I hope the mail carrier is safe, thank you for all of your hard work in this brutal heat, they should supply you with A.C. Driving and delivering for 4-5 hours much be horrible in that truck. Am I to Assume temperatures probably reach 115° to 120°?
I too wish the elderly lady that she too is unharmed.
    Drive safe!

  • @linda. No worse than the trash truck! Yield and go around when safe to.

  • Spring Hill has grown so much in the last 30 years since I moved here. …way too much traffic in many areas for mailboxes on the street. Spring Hill needs walking mail carriers on busy streets like Mariner. I was behind a mail truck on Mariner yesterday & told my husband it was an accident waiting to happen.

  • FL law the mail truck isn’t at fault it’s the old lady who rear ended her. So it’s a lose for the old lady not the mail truck.

  • True DangerDave, as long as someone saw it was the mail carriers fault 😉
