Pedestrian Struck and Killed While Lying in Roadway

HOMOSASSA (CITRUS) – The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting the death of a Homosassa man, after officials say he was run over by a car Saturday evening.

According to reports, Skyler McKeown, 19, was traveling westbound on Grover Cleveland Blvd in his 2005 Audi, when he ran over 32-year-old Robert Brooks, who was lying in the roadway.

Brooks sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Officials say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the cause of the accident.

McKeown is not expected to face charges.
