Plane Disappears After Taking Off from Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport
UPDATE: 11:24 A.M. – Coast Guard Officials are reporting that the Cherokee Piper single engine plane was carrying a 65-year-old man, a 60-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy.
The search continues.
BROOKSVILLE – A small plane carrying three people disappeared on Sunday, somewhere off the coast of Cedar Key.
Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard say the plane took off from Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport bound for George T. Lewis Airport but never arrived.
Sources say the search is centered on an area about seven miles south of Cedar Key but the exact location has not been determined.
