Prisoner Joshua Holmes Hospitalized After Suffering Injuries Inside the Hernando County Jail
UPDATE: 4:25 P.M. – A spokesperson with the Sheriff’s Office says they cannot deny or confirm information regarding Joshua Holmes’ medical condition due to HIPAA law. They have also declined to comment on any incident that has taken place at the jail today. We will continue to bring more on this story as it develops.
BROOKSVILLE – Joshua Holmes, the prisoner who walked away from a work detail last week has been transported to a local hospital after suffering injuries inside the jail.
Sources tell RNRF that Holmes may have suffered a laceration but it is not known if the injuries are self-inflicted, the result of an accident, or an altercation. His condition is unknown at this time.
Holmes was serving a 300 day sentence for Grand Theft Auto and walked away from a work detail after serving just four-months behind bars.
Holmes now faces several years behind bars on charges of Escape, Burglary, Resisting Arrest, and Damage to Property. Holmes is also suspected of stealing a pickup truck to aid in his escape but there is no record of those charges at this time.
