  • my reply to boschamps this is not a question if they crashed on purpose…Its a statement why were they even on the road in the first place with no drivers license. I didn’t know they were different from any other people.

  • Read the comment from Veronica. She said they were high!

    Wednesday, 27 May 2015, 9:21 am
  • Read the comments. I’m assuming one comment was from the daughter of one of the drivers, she said, “myom?”. and the jokes on us, neither of them had a license? To who ever this child belongs to, great way to teach your child to think its ok to drive without a license. well, if you think about it, look at the source of the child to why she would say that.

  • Well they didn’t crash on purpose….Terry…did they??

  • In reading Sarah’s comment above it sounds like these idiots were driving with no License, and they feel that they can say it was a accident. Really so if they would have hurt or killed someone I guess they could say it was a accident. I am sorry they belong in jail. would they call it a accident if it happened to them or a family member of there’s.

  • I will agree that New York drivers are Ultra Aggressive, and I have seen cars flipped on their roofs on the Belt Pkwy. The L.I.E. Parking Lot is atrocious for deadly accidents. But what gets to me the most down here is the number of wrong way drivers?? Also roads like 41, 52,54, and Culbreath ( Bellemy Bros.) one lane in each direction-way to many Head on collisions. The Intersection at Ayers and Culbreath is starting to be a small Cemetery. People down here (no matter where they are from) seem to think Red Lights are optional???
Just my opinion. Heads Up out there and Be Safe. Cant wait for Florida to Legalize Marijuana? Then half the drivers out there will be doin’ 28 mph.

  • This is what happens when people do not pay attention. If the two drivers did not have a license, then why are they driving? It was 2 irresponsible, supose to be grown adults who decided to get behind the wheel of a vehicle with not a care for other people out there. With no license comes with no insurance! So lets put others in danger for there own needs! Yes, it’s an accident, and lucky the two idiots of the vehicles were the same. Should be locked up!!

  • Oh here we go with the I’m from NY and know everything nonsense. Never disliked people from NY until I moved here…now I understand why so many hate them. No, people from NY cannot drive, at all. They suck at it. Always in a damned hurry to get no place quick. I see cars weaving in and out of traffic, cutting through parking lots, running red lights, failing to yield to emergency vehicles, and do you know whats on those cars 99% of the time? NY Yankees or NY Mets emblems. They have lousy attitudes, unwanted opinions and of course, that lovely accent. All they want to do is complain about how bad it is here. Hey Skippy, remember Interstate 95 also runs north. Feel free to use it and leave FL for the people who like it.

  • I stand corrected, the white vehicle seemed as though it was pulling into the shopping center.

    Sunday, 24 May 2015, 10:14 pm
  • Tony, if you look at the accident scene you will see that obviously it looks as though the vehicle that is laying on its side was pulling out into cortez. It is not true that a vehicle has to be speeding to turn over as such. I have witnessed vehicles going quite slow and made abrupt sharp turns causing the vehicles to flip.

  • To Stan & fe up, it it weren’t from the Northerners Spring Hill would still be Barron land. It is those so called snow birds and the northerners who have boosted you economy here. It’s a shame how young kids love to point fingers about things they know nothing about. How about staying off your cell phones, driving slower. Only seem to see young kids speeding on those crotch rockets.

  • So to those who are saying the accident was at that intersection, it was not. It was at the entrance/exit next to the new Chilies. This accident had nothing to do with the intersection.

  • First of all Veronica I don’t care if you were there or not I was the driver of the black ford. So you tell me who was high because it was not me nor the other driver. As well as the driver in the silver van admitted she thought she had time to go and didn’t calculate the timing properly. So to say she tried avoided an accident she was the one who caused the accident. But neither one of us were under the influence as well as none of us were on our cellphones it was just plain bad judgment and it was an accident. And that’s why they call it an accident. I hate when people act like they are perfect and do no wrong in life. I myself have never been in a car accident as a driver or a passenger up until yesterday. So I don’t care if you were there or not she was cited and she admitted to do I g wrong. So don’t run your mouth if you don’t have facts. Accidents happen people get over it. Thankfully nobody was seriously hurt. And no there were kids in either of the cars, we all walked away with our lives we only lost our vehicles and I’m thankful for that. Cars can be replaced not lives. Sorry to rant but I hate when people run their mouths and don’t have facts

  • You know, It’s not really to easy to turn over a car unless your speeding and driving very recklessly and by the amount of rollovers down here there must be a lot of reckless drivers, You see and read about it all of the time so what’s going on, People are in to much of hurry, I see them racing up and down Spring Hill Drive and Mariner Blvd, It’s like playing bumper cars at a carnival, Sooner or later your going to get hit and the number of people being ejected from cars in accidents because they were not buckled up is also mind boggling. If you don’t learn from other peoples mistakes you could also follow in their footsteps, Buckle up because the life you save can very well; be your own.

  • My ex who I have no contact with and his new wife have my daughter and a van like that I just want to know if there were any kids involved

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 11:39 am
  • I find it amusing that you people determine a persons driving skills by where you are from in the country . hey I’m from the north raised in the south can you guess how many points are on my license? Again I ask a much more important and sincere question were there any children in the van

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 11:36 am
  • Home grown Floridians down here just love to complain about drivers from the Northeast but these same complainers never grew up and lived there to actually know how it was compared to how it how it is down here but it’s easy to point fingers even if you don’t have the facts, It’s just like blaming snowbirds for all the accidents down here even when they’ve gone back North and I really doubt that these snowbirds are all coming down here in there pickup trucks considering all the accidents involving pickups that are happening all year round, Florida has gotten smarter over the years from Northern ideas and will continue to do so. To be really honest about any situation in any given area of the country one has to have spent a considerable amount of time in both places to be able to make an honest judgment, I’ve heard many times that drivers up North may be crazy but they are Skilled Crazy Drivers and down here they are just Crazy and Unskilled, There is good and bad regarding any state one might live in and Florida does have it’s good points but being safe on these roads weather you are in a car or a pedestrian walking down the street, You are not safe and the number of hit & runs is also appalling, I spent 55 years up North and 12 years down here and I know the difference and I have never been one to knock anything without knowledge of what I was talking about, I’m not saying saying that there are no accidents caused by Northern snowbirds but Northerners are not the main problem down here, My driving record of 50 years is No Accidents and No Tickets because I am a safe responsible driver that respects the road.

    • Tony, this poorly written comment,(still misusing commas and periods, plus you obviously don’t know what a paragraph is, since you never used one !). As for never having an accident, that is more luck than safe driving. I have been in 8 accidents and not a single one was my fault !
Snowbirds from N.Y. were cited in 5 of the accidents, a transplant from N.Y. got the ticket for another accident and the other 2 were from Ohio. So, based on my driving experience, people NOT from Florida have created nothing but medical and financial issues for me because this is a no fault state, so regardless of who is at fault, I ended up with medical bills and money I had to put out to replace vehicles”

      Thursday, 23 March 2017, 6:21 am
      • * vehicles., not “. I have nerve damage due to a few of the accidents, so typing is very difficult for me and sometimes my fingers “stutter” and hit the wrong key. Generally I try to carefully proofread, but occasionally I miss something. However, I still know how to use correct grammar and punctuation, I simply make typos from time to time due to my injuries.

        Thursday, 23 March 2017, 6:28 am
  • I was in a bad wreck there in 2004, kept the lanes I was in closed for almost 3 hours. People being in a hurry is a HUGE problem. While you’re driving there should be NOTHING ELSE MORE IMPORTANT. Leave earlier, take your time or people die.

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 9:04 am
  • Yes!! Stan tibbs

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 8:38 am
  • Take notice how many people don’t use their signals. i would say 8 out of ten don’t use them . Maybe they forgot what they are there for.

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 8:36 am
  • <—— Boston driver never been in an accident….I say a prayer to everyone driving 19 and 50… or any intersection for that matter,,,,

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 7:28 am
  • Exactly, Stan Tibbs. I have watched this county, mainly Spring Hill, be taken over by these people from NY. Please feel free to GO THE HELL BACK & maybe then, we can have our little Spring Hill back. Yeah, that’s never gonna happen. But it damn sure would be nice!!!!

    Saturday, 23 May 2015, 5:49 am
  • Tony Just who do y think lives here in spring hill ? 8 out of 0 come from New York . Maybe its a New York thing . . Everything here is from up there . There is NO florida left . Its been taken from us by a bunch of crybabys . Please go back to New York . Millons love it here . You are not needed .

  • You guys are very dum this accident was caused because of a woman that was high!!! and the lady in the silver car was trying not to kill her she flipped the car I honestly was there so please don’t say anything you don’t know guys …!! Thank you peace out!!

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 9:39 pm
    • Veronica, people who are illiterate shouldn’t call people “dum”, when they look “DUMB” because they can’t spell. If anybody was high or drunk, why wasn’t there any arrest for D.U.I.? Yes, she didn’t have a license (neither one did), so nobody innocent got financially hurt since neither had insurance. I’m just grateful nobody was seriously injured! Unless you know things for a fact, you shouldn’t assume or post crap about people!!

      Thursday, 23 March 2017, 5:48 am
  • This didn’t happen because anyone was on their phones. First off. Second off the lady in the van thought she had time to go while myom was driving. Obviously she didn’t. And you say why do they allow people to get licenses. But jokes on you cause neither of them had it. So watch your smart ass remarks.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 9:38 pm
    • Re: Sabrina Doig’s comment..She said she was the person in the accident. Look up her arrest record. Tell me she isn’t high in her last arrest? As for your comment Cassie, obviously you are upset about people saying crap about your mom, and you should defend her! But, I hope you are as smart as you seem and don’t follow in her footsteps! Hopefully you have learned lessons about what bad decisions lead to..like the 10+ arrests for your mom. (And if I looked up your dad right, he has quite a record too). So, you should defend them, they are your parents and you love them, but please make better life choices than them!

      Thursday, 23 March 2017, 5:39 am
    • To the person who commented on Cassie defending her mother: obviously she loves her mom so it is great to see a teenager who is willing to stick up for their parent(s). As for Cassie, she (and her sister) are lovely, well behaved, productive, good citizens. I have known them both since they were small children and regardless of what their mom is doing, they have been raised well and no the difference between right and wrong. I would be proud to have them both as my daughters! You shouldn’t talk about people that you know nothing about! Love you Cassie! (and your sister).

  • Tony remember the freeway goes north and south. Nobody is forcing you to stay here if you are so miserable.
Also I totally agree with pulsk1, the intersection is crazy enough without sign twirlers, charities, honking for anything, etc.
We don’t need any extra distractions at this dangerous intersection. We do need people to practice more patience though!

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 6:53 pm
    • I totally agree w/ Food4Thought… Highway goes NORTH for the unhappy people….

      Friday, 22 May 2015, 9:13 pm
  • I lived on Long Island for 55 years before I moved here to Spring Hill and the first thing that got my attention was the amount of auto crashes down here, Long Island was a very busy place with lots of traffic on the roads and yes, While there were accidents there were no where as many as there are down here on a daily basses and I followed the local news and read the newspaper, It’s easy to blame people from NY for poor driving but have you ever lived up there to make a real comparison, Down here they love to speed and tail gate even if your driving 5 above the speed limit already, I’ve been down here 12 years and I see a big difference in the culture and level of education down here Moving down here was like moving into a third world country compared to the culture up North but there are a few good things down here, No snow and low taxes and that’s about it and there is one more thing, Health care down here is Poor , If you went into the hospital for something the doctors knew what was wrong with you, Down here you go into the hospital and the doctors scratch their heads, Amazing

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 4:42 pm
    • Tony I couldn’t agree more with you I’m also from Long Island and I’m so amused by how everyone blames New Yorker’s for everything that goes wrong. Couldn’t agree more about it’s like living in a third world country if any of them lived in New York they wouldn’t survive.

      Friday, 22 May 2015, 9:17 pm
      • obviously neither could “ya’ll” or you wouldn’t be here. did long distance moving for many years, from Alexandria VA, thru DC, Baltimore into NY including LI, the people drive like complete idiots. Did it for over 20 years, so yes i have experienced enough to qualify for an opinion. ps- I am from Chicago and they can’t drive worth a sh.t either.

        Saturday, 23 May 2015, 6:04 pm
    • I agree with you Tony, we never seen cars flipped over on Long Island, They always say New Yorkers. How many people lived on Long Island over a million ? It’s crazy down here. People don’t care when they drive, very inconsiderate and are always in a hurry. They obtain their license down here on a computer and their road test is taking in a parking lot, So many don’t know how to drive. I know this for a fact because it is how my daughter got her license. I am thankful she had most of her driving up in NY.

      Friday, 22 May 2015, 10:53 pm
    • Tony, you have the nerve to talk about the level of education, yet you can’t write a at the level of an average 9th grader! “Basses”? How about “basis”? Also, there is a thing called a “period” that is to be used to separate sentences. Commas are used to put a pause in a sentence. Your “sentences” are called ” run on sentences” and make no sense when read by an Florida educated person. Also, you don’t capitalize a word after a comma, unless it is a noun! So, if that is how they teach you to write in N.Y., maybe you should retake your composition course down here!

      Thursday, 23 March 2017, 5:58 am
  • I have lived in many states and areas within those states in my 55 yrs and I have been amazed at the number of accidents there are in this area! It makes me very cautious when I dare to venture out to do errands! It would seem to me, with all the additional lanes, accidents would be less!

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 2:33 pm
  • That is a very dangerous spot. When traveling east on Cortez, you cannot see that there are cars lined up to make that left turn into the new plaza. And the drivers making the turn can’t see oncoming traffic because of all the barrels. I purposely slow down when approaching that spot because it’s always an accident looking to happen. People driving too fast, texting, not paying attention – add all that to the county’s idiotic planning and it’s a disaster looking to happen at any given moment.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 2:28 pm
  • Actually that is probably the worst intersection in the county. With all the construction markers, construction vehicles, new traffic patterns and erratic signal lights, it is no wonder there are so many accidents there. I don’t usually mind honk for Jesus people, but when they stand there and people are honking on top of everything else it is even worse.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 2:20 pm
  • Does anyone know if there were children were in the Chrysler?

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 2:16 pm
  • ny and Boston rated worst drivers in American Boston had to put up alert eltronic signs to use your blinker cause of the wrecks New Yorkers still think there in New York ride your ass pass you in the grass while driving fast wow should be a rapper.Open eyes, listen and get off phones.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 2:15 pm
  • Dc, you are spot on. I like the way you think.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 1:59 pm
  • They need to reevaluate who gets a license in that county. Pay attention ppl, get off those damn cell phones.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 1:45 pm
  • Accidents happen. That’s why they’re called accidents.

    Friday, 22 May 2015, 1:09 pm
  • Why the hell can’t people pay attention??? There is absolutely no reason for so many accidents to happen at this intersection, except for damn people just not paying attention to what they’re doing…
