Search for Mentally Disabled Adult Underway, Search Intensifies and Darkness Draws Near

BEVERLY HILLS (CITRUS) – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s help in locating a missing and endangered adult who disappeared around 8:40 a.m. this morning.

According to officials, 57-year-old Paula Gill left her home on Pink Poppy Drive and hasn’t been seen since. Officials say Gill has the mentality of a 10-year-old girl and could be in danger.

Gill is described as a white female, 4’9”, 130 lbs., with short dirty blonde hair, and was wearing a light blue shirt and teal workout pants. Gill was last seen walking northbound on Pink Poppy Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office has deployed bloodhounds and an air unit to search for Gill.

If anyone has information on Gill’s whereabouts, officials are asking that you call 911 immediately.

Officials say their search is intensifying as darkness draws near.

  • Jen is SO RIGHT. Many predators don’t care if you are special needs or not. Many people don’t care either. These folks are super friendly and trusting. They’ve never met an enemy in their minds and don’t comprehend danger signals. At some point fear may take over because she realizes she’s lost her way. My prayers go out for her safe return. This is so heart breaking.

    • But people let their 10yr olds go for a walk. Why can she not go for a walk. Because she is handicapped don’t mean she shouldn’t have a life. It is sad when people think due to being handicapped you should be a prisoner of your disability. I hope no one kidnapped her or the unthinkable she met up with the wrong person. If she has the thought process of a 10yr old maybe she met someone online.

      • I think you took what I said wrong. I myself will not allow my 10yr old to go anywhere ALONE. There are to many CRAZY SICK ppl in the world. Walking to and from bus stop she has to be with a friend. Handicap or not she shouldn’t have been alone. I pray she is safe. Especially since she has a disability she needs to be more careful. There are ppl that look to take advantage of handicap ppl. I’m sure she is a very sweet and trusting person and that’s when she is putin danger.
