Search Underway for Suspect in Triple Stabbing, Wanted for Attempted Murder
FLORAL CITY (CITRUS) – Investigators with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the man responsible for an early morning stabbing that injured three people on Christmas Day.
According to officials, Deputies responded to a residence off Hwy 41 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, after reports of a triple stabbing. Upon arrival Deputies met with two victims, Michael Hanson and Ashley Brower who stated their roommate, 32-year-old Jesse Prive stabbed his girlfriend, Melissa Dye, and then turned the knife on them.
Officials say Prive stabbed Brower in the chest and Hanson in the chest and head during the altercation. Hanson was able to disarmed Prive, giving them time to escape the residence and contact Law Enforcement.
Despite being stabbed by her boyfriend, both Prive and Dye fled the residence together. Dye returned to the scene later to provide a statement to investigators. Prive is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
Prive is wanted for two counts of attempted murder at this time.
Hanson and Brower were treated and released from Bayonet Point Medical Center. It is not known if Dye was treated for injuries she sustained from being stabbed.
