Senior Prank Goes Too Far for Some Weeki Wachee Freshmen
UPDATE: 5/19/2016, 6:02 P.M. – A spokesperson for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says there is an active investigation into the incident.
Despite claims by several parents, school officials say “There were no students injured by the senior prank that occurred today at Weeki Wachee High. With respect to school property, there was some damage to a stage curtain, however, the damage is not permanent and the school is in the process of cleaning the curtain.”
WEEKI WACHEE – High school seniors are notorious for pulling pranks on underlings, especially freshmen on Senior Prank Day. That tradition hasn’t changed much for decades but sometimes the joke goes a little too far. That’s exactly what students at Weeki Wachee High School say happened this morning and it forced some to seek medical attention.
Millie Waterman says her daughter suffered a severe allergic reaction, after being exposed to a powdery substance. Some students went home and others went to the hospital for treatment, according to Waterman, but that hasn’t been confirmed by school officials.
Waterman’s daughter says tables were stacked on top of each other and TP’d (Toilet Papered), balloons filled with powder burst around students, and Icy Hot was placed on toilet seats. She also says lube was placed in soap dispensers and deer urine sprayed all over curtains and stage props.
Waterman says her daughter is doing better and is resting.
School Officials have not returned our request for a comment on the incident.
It’s not known at this time if law enforcement was notified or if any legal action will be taken.
We will bring more on this story as it develops.
