Several Accidents Plague County Roads Including Hit and Run with Stolen Vehicle

HERNANDO – According to the Sheriff’s Office, several accidents have occurred within the last 30 minutes, including one hit and run where a several subjects fled the scene.

According to our sources, a vehicle struck a tree and overturned at 5447 Emerald Drive and there are unconfirmed reports that the vehicle may be stolen and that at least three suspects fled the scene.

Four other accidents occurred at Fort Dade and Cortez Blvd, Mariner Blvd and Frontage Road, 5300 Commercial Way, and Winter Street and Cortez Blvd, where a school bus was involved. There were no children aboard at the time and no injuries were reported.
