Severe Weather Alert – Strong Storms, Wind, Lightning Possible

HERNANDO – There is an increasing chance for severe weather today, as heavy rains and widespread thunderstorms move across the county.  Frequent lightning and damaging winds, with gusts between 25 and 60 mph are possible. Flooding in low lying areas can be expected and there is the threat of an isolated tornado or straight line wind.

The high temperature today is expected to reach around 70° with a low of 48° tonight and even cooler temperatures over the weekend.
