Sharks – Eagles Pace Week 3 County Football
Hurricane Hermine came through Florida last week, cancelling a majority of the schedule. Week three of high school football, returns tomorrow and promises a bunch of exciting games led by a Hernando County rivalry.
Joining me as always is Derek J. LaRiviere, and we will be breaking down the shortened week three slate starting with a bitter matchup between two schools that really do not like each other.
Game of the Week: Nature Coast (1-0) at Springstead (1-0)
Aiello Jr: NCT, 28-14
LaRiviere: NCT, 31-21
Derek’s Breakdown: Although it’s only been going on for less than a couple decades, this rivalry has become one of the most heated on the North Suncoast. No love lost between these programs or their players. This game could be the real measuring stick for Springstead. The Eagles are confident with Jordan Wright at the helm, but Nature Coast has plenty of firepower of its own with Brian Haygood under center. Springstead transfer T.J. Owens could also factor heavily in the outcome.
Danny’s Breakdown: Springstead’s offense has been hot of late with Jordan Wright commanding an attack that is efficient and effective. Demetrius Berry is solid on both sides of the ball for the Eagles and will be the x-factor against a tough Nature Coast squad. Ultimately, the Sharks have too much talent on defense, and just enough offense to put this one away late. The defense will lead the Sharks to victory in this one.
Byes: Gulf (0-1), River Ridge (0-1), Zephyrhills (1-1)
OVERALL RECORDS (LAST WEEK) : Aiello Jr: 1-1 (9-7), LaRiviere 1-1 (9-7)
