Sheriff Says Murder Suspects Could Be Here – Armed and Dangerous
WEEKI WACHEE – Just after 11:00am, RNRF received a tip that a blue Ford Explorer, matching the description of the vehicle driven by the Moon Lake murder suspects, had been located in front of the Weeki Wachee Marina on Shoal Line Blvd (ORIGINAL REPORT).
After arriving on scene, heavily armed deputies searched an abandoned two story home and several boats in the area, but the suspects, 26-year-old Christopher Lee Duncan and 38-year-old Dora Delgado were not located.
During an interview with reporters, Sheriff Nienuis claims the suspects may still be in area and they will continue to search until they are located. Nienhuis told reporters “We have good reason to believe they (the suspects) will reach out to friends and family.” He warned possible accomplices by saying “If you consider helping them, probably the best thing that will happen to you that you’re going to prison…”
Nienhuis wouldn’t specify on how long the vehicle had been at the location, but he did say it wasn’t very long and definitely not immediately after the murders took place on Monday.
At this point officials aren’t sure if the suspects have left on foot or have acquired another method of transportation.
Officials from Pasco and Hernando County continue to search a broad area, west of Commercial Way, along Cortez Blvd.
We will continue to bring more on this story as it develops.
