Softball Game Dispute Leads to Man Running Over Three People with Pickup Truck
BROOKSVILLE – A Spring Hill man is behind bars today, after a dispute over a softball game led to him running over three people with a pickup truck.
According to officials, Brooksville Police responded to the Jerome Brown Center on Thursday, where they located three injured victims.
One person was transported to Bayfront Health Medical Center with unknown injuries and the remaining victims refused treatment.
The driver, 24-year-old Michael Hartwell, fled the scene but later called Police and turned himself in at the Brooksville Police Department.
Officials say an argument over an earlier softball game is what led to Hartwell running over the victims, as they walked towards the parking lot. Hartwell denied hitting the victims but admitted to the altercation.
Hartwell is charged with 3-counts of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Driving on a Suspended License. He is currently behind bars, held on a $30,500 bond.
