SPCA Facility Threatened By Approaching Brush Fire

BROOKSVILLE – Firefighters are on the scene of brush fire in the area of Grant Street and Harrison Street that has engulfed several acres.

What started as a fire less than a ¼ acre in size, quickly grew and spread northward towards Taylor Street, with The SPCA Facility directly in its path.

Firefighters guarded the facility along with a few other residential structures in the area, while other personnel worked to extinguish the blaze.

At this time the fire is under control and there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

The Department of Forestry is also assisting with keeping the fire contained.

  • Thank you, Brooksville Firefighters..While living in Homewood, IL, the vets office down the street went up in flames during the night & the animals perished. Everyone was in mourning over it.
