  • I see the kids walking both in and out of the crosswalks, many times, their faces tuned to their phones. That kid may have had the right of way, or not, but what is the problem with watching out for where you are walking?. You could be right….dead right.

  • Crosswalk over these roads should be mandatory. Especially when you have these schools having to cross these extremely busy roads. Just like Explorer on Northcliffe. Ridiculous.

        • i was under the impression as it appeared that you were thinking it may have been the students fault for walking into the intersection. yes the student def should have been aware of the car but now i see you feel that the car should have yielded which is def the case.

    • He was alert, he waited for the crosswalk to give him the right of way. The women had a red light and she made a right turn without looking in the crosswalk, she was only looking left to see if any cars were coming and basically blindly drove right into him. Maybe the DRIVERS should be more alert. It has nothing to do with the kids

  • I was at the intersection when this happened. The car was turning right onto Mariner. And the student had just stepped out to cross. She didn’t see him. He hit the hood and rolled off the right side. It was scary, but could’ve been so much worse! I wish, as a community there is something we could do at this intersection to protect our students. Maybe a crosswalk over Mariner, or a crossing guard on staff all day.
