Springstead Marching Band Headed to Tropicana Field for Semi-Finals, Crowned Grand Champions at Regional
LAKEWOOD RANCH (Manatee) – Clad in their new uniforms, after wearing the same ones that some parents wore 20-years ago, the Springstead High School Marching Band took best in all categories at the Florida Marching Band Championship Regional competition in Manatee County, last evening.
It was a long day of competing that began at Hernando High School, but then it was off to Lakewood Ranch to compete with several other schools at the Music in Motion competition.
The FMBC categories include, music, visual, percussion, band, and color guard performance. Springstead ranked highest in all categories against four schools in the 3-A Division and three schools in 1-A, 2-A, and 4-A, respectively.
It’s now on to the semi-finals at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on November 18th, and if they rank 5th place or higher, they will move into the finals later that evening.
