Suspect Charged with Killing Nephew in Violent Spring Hill Shooting

SRING HILL – Officials say the victim in yesterday’s fatal shooting inside a local sweepstakes business was the suspect’s nephew. (CLICK HERE FOR ORIGINAL REPORT)

According to officials, witnesses told Detectives that the suspect, 55-year-old Roger Vazquez, was acting erratically and waving a gun around inside Lucky Fish Games. Another manager, Laau Paselio, contacted the owner, Jose Santana to report Vazquez’s behavior. Santana then called Vazquez’s nephew and shooting victim, 44-year-old Raymond Correa, to try and calm Vazquez down. When Correa arrived on scene, he and Paselio were able to convince Vazquez to unload the gun and place it on the counter. A short time later, Vazquez pulled a second gun and pointed it at Correa. Vazquez then shot Correa twice and then continued to shoot his nephew several times after he was on the ground. Correa died at the scene from his injuries.

After the shooting, numerous witnesses fled the business to call 911. One witness, Michael Midolo, entered the business to confront Vazquez about the shooting. Vazquez pointed a gun at Midolo and said it didn’t concern him.

Vazquez surrendered to deputies without incident upon their arrival.

Vazquez was booked into the Hernano County Jail on charges of Homicide and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. He is currently held on a $70,000 bond.

  • To the POS Judge who granted Bond to this Scum Bag, you should be removed from your position. You have no business wearing that black robe.

  • Why call the nephew instead of law enforcement you ask? Simple. When you operate outside of the law, you don’t call the law when you have a problem. Duh.

      Monday, 17 September 2018, 12:52 pm
    • Joey, if you are calling most of the commenters here white trash as you say it then that makes you a racist piece of black trash. If you want to be racist to us then we can be racist to you then. You can call white people racist all the time and expect us to take it because you have been oppressed as a black man. Who the hell was our last gay President and last drag queen first lady then you fool. I think they were black right. So your racist card to white people don’t work anymore. That is all the DNC has left to put on anyone that disagrees with them. It’s like Trump he was never a so call racist until he became President. Now that is all you hear from the Wacko left. If he says the sky is blue he is racist. Grow a brain and think for yourself instead of listening and absorbing the gaslighting you been receiving for decades which made you into the racist that you are.

  • A bond who was the judge? Wow what is going on in our county

    Sunday, 16 September 2018, 8:05 pm
    • Wow, I totally agree with you. What Judge in their right mind would grant a Bond to someone who committed first degree murder. After shooting his nephew twice, he was then shot multiple times after. That is MURDER. He was shot from the upper chest down to his legs. This POS wasnt even aiming, he was just shooting his Nephew randomly. So how he gets eligible for Bond is beyond me.

    • Mark I agree, but is there really anyplace left to go? I was born here. I love the area where I live and I love Florida, but I hate what it is becoming. It seems that wherever there are people you are going to have these problems. At what point do we have to make a decision to come together and take a stand. If the cops and the courts and our useless elected officials won’t do their jobs, then when do law abiding citizens end up having to take back the streets and neighborhoods? Those in power apparently can’t/won’t do it. Your thoughts?
