Suspicious Device Located inside Brooksville Business, Bomb Squad En Route
UPDATE: 1:22 P.M. – Earlier this morning, RNRF broke the news of a suspicious device discovered inside Regency Technologies on Broad Street.
Officials have now confirmed the discovery and provided the following statement:
911 dispatchers received a call from employees at Regency Technologies, 2005 Broad St., Brooksville, in reference to a suspicious device that was recently delivered to the business.
Regency Technologies is an electronic recycler, whose clients include the U.S. military.
As employees unpacked one of the computers, and opened up the battery compartment, they noticed a playdough like substance that resembled C-4 along with a blast cap and wires connected to a 9V battery.
The computer was shipped by the U.S. Military from Alabama to Brooksville to be recycled.
The computer was marked on the top with the word “Training.” All of the remaining computers in the shipment checked out normal.
In an abundance of caution the Citrus County Bomb Squad has been called in to dispose of the computer.
Regency Technologies, along with other nearby businesses, have been evacuated.

BROOKSVILLE – Authorities are investigating a suspicious device found inside Regency Technologies and sources say it has the appearance of a bomb.
Sources at the scene tell RNRF that a device with the writing “Military Training” was found inside a package at the rear of Regency Technologies located at 2005 Broad Street.
Officials have not released a formal statement at this time but it is confirmed that a Bomb Squad has been dispatched to inspect and remove the device.
The building has been evacuated and Fire Rescue is staging nearby.
Regency Technologies is located near the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport.
