Teen Charged with Armed Robbery, Planned to Sell Stolen Air Jordans
BROOKSVILLE – A teenager was jailed Saturday on charges of Armed Robbery, after an incident at Beacon Theater led to the teen pointing what was believed to be a real firearm at his victim.
According to reports, the suspect and victim had an ongoing dispute that led a scheduled fight Friday evening. The victim says he and his friends received dozens of threatening message, taunting him to fight. We are not revealing the identities of either subject due to their age.
When the two met at the theater, the suspect pulled out a black handgun, pointed it at the victim, and said “I swear I’ll kill you.” The victim put his hands in the air and said “what do you want?” The suspect demanded the victim’s new Air Jordan sneakers and the victim complied.
Deputies interviewed witnesses who corroborated the victim’s claims. Contact was made with the suspect who admitted to the crime and says he planned on selling the sneakers.
Turns out, the firearm used to threaten the victim was a pellet gun.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Armed Robbery. It is not known if the suspect is currently incarcerated or if he has been turned over to the custody of his parents.
