Third Suspect Surrenders in Connection with Apartment Burglary and Battery
BROOKSVILLE – The third suspect, wanted in connection with Friday’s burglary and beating of resident at Candleglow Apartments has turned himself into Police.
According to officials, 19-year-old Daron Garad Sampson walked into the Brooksville Police Department Tuesday and was taken into custody. Sampson is charged with Burglary/Battery and is free on a $25,000 bond.
BROOKSVILLE – Two men are charged with Burglary with Assault or Battery and a third suspect remains at large, after Police say they invaded a residence at Candleglow Apartments and attacked a male victim.
According to officials, 19-year-old Frederick Jermaine Brown, 18-year-old Robert Cleo Lewis and a third unidentified suspect knocked on the door of an apartment and when the victim’s girlfriend answered, they barged in and attacked her boyfriend.
Officials say Lewis Grabbed the victim and threw him on a bed, while he and the other men struck the victim. A neighbor overheard the girlfriend screaming and called 911, but the men fled the residence before police arrived on the scene.
Police located Lewis on July 10th, the day of the incident, but Brown wasn’t taken into custody until Sunday. Both men were located in the same apartment complex where the incident occurred.
Officials cannot confirm the exact motive for the attack but they suspect the victim owed money to the suspects.
The third suspect has yet to be identified.
Brown is free on a $25,000 bond – Lewis remains behind bars held on the same bond amount.
