Tomahawk Attack Lands Man Behind Bars
BROOKSVILLE – Deputies responded to 19206 Fort Dade Ave yesterday, after a woman called 911 to report that her ex-boyfriend had thrown an axe at her vehicle.
According to officials, an argument ensued between the suspect, 30-year-old Kevin Alen Yost Jr, and his ex-girlfriend Susan Thomas, after she stopped by to drop off some of his belongings.
Thomas says when she was backing out of the driveway in her 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, Yost retrieved a Tomahawk (ax) from his belongings and threw it at her car. The tomahawk struck the divider between the front and rear passenger windows, causing minor damage.
Deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with Yost, who denied throwing the tomahawk at her car; however, when deputies placed the ax against the damage on Thomas’ car, it matched perfectly.
Yost was transported to the Hernando County Jail and booked on a Felony Weapons offense and Criminal Mischief. Yost remains behind bars – held on a $6,000 bond.
