Tractor-Trailer Plunges into Jenkins Creek Canal After Driver Loses Control

WEEKI WACHEE – The driver of a tractor-trailer escaped with only minor injuries today, after he lost control and drove into a canal at Jenkins Creek.

Sources tell RNRF that the driver over-corrected and swerved across the center line, and then plunged into the canal.

Fire Rescue is placing absorbent hazardous material booms in the water to contain diesel fuel and other chemicals that are leaking from the truck.

Traffic delays are expected in the area while emergency vehicles are on scene.

  • Jonny Eldorado, if so per what your saying is true and i don’t doubt you 1 bit, hope he learned his lesson for sure, kitty 8, he didn’t pollute the DAMN CREEK! but all those homes on Weeki Wachee and pine island sure may add some via septics etc. per all the closings warnings of fecal matter all the time at P. island but what are we to do………….bulldoze there homes? run em out? NOT! sad fact of life, also iv’e never seen more perfect people on here in my life! wow! i have a co-worker who was in a ranger once right near there and his tire grabbed rail on the edge of pavement and sent him rolling off the road the same way, it’s very narrow and dangerous per just mud and brackish water with embankment both sides, for sure a road to be careful and sober on when driving on it, but again some of you here never had an accident? GIMME A DAMN BREAK! WOW! also a FACT, the ocean and environment via it’s own properties has the ability to devour mass amounts of pollutants on it’s own, most don’t know oil leaks into the oceans round the clock through undersea cracks etc. and the power of the salty ocean, marsh grasses, currents etc. cleanse itself naturally, NO i’m not saying any of this (good) for the environment, but kitty please HE DIDN’T POLLUTE THE POOR LITTLE CREEK!
