Two Airlifted with Traumatic Injuries After Collision with Dump Truck

BROOKSVILLE – An elderly couple were airlifted to a local trauma center this morning, after their minivan was struck broadside by a large dump truck on Cortez Blvd, near Horse Lake Road.

A third vehicle was also involved but the three female occupants did not appear to be seriously injured.

The driver of the truck was not injured and damage to his vehicle was minimal.

Cortez was shut down in both directions to allow both helicopters to land safely. The condition of both patients is unknown at this time.
