Two Die in Separate Crystal River Motorcycle Crashes

CRYSTAL RIVER (CITRUS) – A sad day in Crystal River after separate motorcycle crashes claimed the lives of two young men.

The first crash occurred Sunday evening on West Bentbow Ave, where officials say a deer ran into the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Bobby Lee Williams of Chiefland. Williams collided with the deer and was ejected from the motorcycle. Williams was transported to Seven Rivers Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The second crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. this morning on West Fort Island Trail. That’s where officials say 26-year-old Michael Ferrin of Inverness died when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, while driving his Yamaha motorcycle, and collided with a tree. Ferrin died at the scene of the crash.
