Two People Airlifted to Trauma Center After Motorcycle Crash on Cortez Blvd

BROOKSVILLE – At least two people were injured after a motorcycle was involved in a crash on Cortez Blvd at Highline Drive.

There are unconfirmed reports that a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office agency vehicle was involved in the crash but that the motorcycle may have only cause minor damage to the vehicle.

A blue Ford sedan sustained heavy front-end damage after sources say it struck the motorcycle, causing two occupants to be ejected onto the roadway.

A man and woman were airlifted to local trauma centers for treatment but there is no information available at this time on the extent of their injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

Traffic is moving in both directions of Cortez Blvd at this time.
