  • When they relined the road they created this hazard. It’s very difficult to see around the car making a right turn on to Hexam. It needs a light but only at rush time. The rest of the time it could be blinking yellow. Can’t blame the state troopers. It takes money to put patrols on the road and we Floridians have a problem with raising tax’s to pay for it.

  • There are several reasons why the intersection is so dangerous. 1-People who do not use signals, so those exiting Hexam have to guess as to what some cars are doing.2-Inconsiderate jackasses that do not wait their turn and pull next to the car in the median, so that car cannot see. 3 Poor visibility in both directions, difficult to tell what lane the oncoming cars are in. 4. Sporadic periods of heavy traffic make people take risks to get out.

Only a light can fix the problem, have it a flashing light during low traffic times.

  • Agree with Faith, traffic will back up and people who are not paying attention will just rear end each other. That’s the most common auto accidents. Count traffic on Hexam vs. 19.

  • I have seen many more accidents at the entrance to the Heather. We havea very poorly designed road system here in Hernando. If you don’t believe that a traffic light will make things worse look at Pasco County. Then look at what Pinellas did to alleviate the traffic issued that came from too many traffic lights.

  • People just need to pay attention. Lights cannot be put at every intersection. I have driven that intersection for years with no problem. People get in a hurry and thats what happens. We have enough traffiv lights!!!!!

    • As I drove southbound on 19 near this intersection on Tuesday I counted 8 drivers looking at their phones and not the traffic in a one mile stretch.
