Victim Identified in Tansboro Street Murder – Stabbed Multiple Times
The Hernando Sheriff’s Office released the following statement, regarding yesterday’s murder on Tansboro Street:
Detectives have arrested James Dale Turner W/M DOB/12-22-1965 of 12463 Tansboro Street in Spring Hill, charging him with Second Degree Murder.
Investigation revealed that there have been some minor altercations between Turner and the victim, identified as Dwayne Alan Brown B/M DOB/05-08-1986, in the days leading up to this incident.
Brown and Turner reside together on Tansboro Street as roommates.
On 12-03-15 detective’s investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place in the victim’s bedroom, which resulted in Turner inflicting multiple stab wounds to Brown. Brown subsequently succumbed to the injuries prior to the arrival of law enforcement and fire/rescue.
Many times during the investigation, Turner attempted to claim self-defense as a reason for killing Brown. Conflicting statements, as well as crime scene evidence, refuted those claims.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Turner for the Second Degree Murder of Brown. Turner is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center.
The case remains active; no additional information is available at this time.
SPRING HILL – According to Hernando County Jail Records, 50-year-old James Dale Turner of 12463 Tansboro Street is charged with 2nd Degree Murder. RNRF is not revealing the identity of the victim until authorities provide an official report.
A search of Turner’s record revealed seven previous arrests in Hernando County, on charges ranging from Assault and Battery to Disorderly Intoxication. Turner is currently held without bond.

SPRING HILL (12/4/2015, 3:12 P.M.) – One man is confirmed dead and another detained, after an altercation lead to one of the men being stabbed to death inside a home on Tansboro Street.
The scene is still very active and officials have not released a statement at this time; however, there are unconfirmed sources that say the victim was stabbed after he struck the other man with a baseball bat. The suspect then called 911 and immediately reported the altercation.
Neighbor, Joan Christian, tells RNRF that she believes the incident is drug related and that the suspect is the homeowner, James Turner. She also says Turner is schizophrenic and was not taking his medications. RNRF is not releasing the name of the victim until officials notify next of kin.
