VIDEO: Kidnapping, Battery Suspect Captured After Two Neighborhood Searches
SPRING HILL – A man led deputies on two neighborhood searches yesterday, after sources say he held battered and held his wife against her will during a domestic dispute at their home on Penfield Ave.
Just before 2:00 p.m. yesterday, Deputies responded to 12280 Penfield, where according to unconfirmed reports, the victim claimed her husband, 53-year-old William Rodney Allen battered and held her against her will.
Allen fled the residence before Deputies arrived, prompting a search by ground and air for nearly an hour. A few hours later, Deputies responded back to the residence after receiving reports that Allen was back at the residence. Deputies regrouped, established a perimeter, and began searching for the suspect again. An hour into the search, K9 located Allen hiding in a wooded area behind his mother’s home on Candler Ave. Sources say Allen refused to comply with commands and with fears that he may be armed with a handgun, K9 was deployed and Allen suffered dog bites as a result.
Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported Allen to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Hernando County Jail.
Allen is charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Battery, Resisting without Violence, and Obstruction.
Allen remains behind bars on a $13,500 bond.
In the attached video, Allen is overheard asking what he was being arrested for and if he needed medical attention for the dog bite. Follow this link: ALLEN ARREST VIDEO or click below to watch the entire video from the scene.
