Woman Charged with Poss. of Marijuana, While Visiting Probation Officer
BROOKSVILLE – A Spring Hill woman with a lengthy criminal history, visited her probation officer yesterday, only to find herself in handcuffs and on her way to jail once again.
According to reports, deputies responded to 20144 Cortez Blvd (Parole and Probation), to place 31-year-old Mary Leann Young in custody on an unrelated Violation. During a search of her belongings, deputies felt something peculiar in the waistband of her jacket. Upon further inspection, deputies discovered a small cylinder, labeled with the words Ibuprofen. Inside the container was a green leafy material, later determined to be marijuana.
Young was charged with Possession of Marijuana, in addition to her original violation of probation charges and transported to the Hernando County Jail.
Young is currently in probation for Fraud and Grand Theft. She remains behind bars, held without bond.
