Woman Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Stabbing Her Own Mother
BROOSKVILLE – A woman is facing an Attempted First Degree Murder charge, after she stabbed her own mother during an altercation at their home early this morning.
According to officials, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home on Gennesee Drive early this morning, after reports that 21-year-old Sara Davey stabbed her mother, 55-year-old Shelia Davey multiple times.
Upon arrival, deputies took Sara into custody and found that Shelia had in-fact been stabbed in her left side.
Officials say Shelia tried to stop her daughter from hurting herself, after she found Sara standing in the kitchen holding a knife. When she tried to take the knife away, Sara stabbed her in the side. Because Sara was believed to have ingested several Xanax pills, prior to the incident, they were both transported to an area hospital for treatment. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries and were soon released from the hospital.
After Sara was medically cleared, she was transported to the Hernando County Jail and booked on one count of Attempted Murder. She is currently held without bond.
