Around the same time early Sunday morning, a separate shooting in Brooksville led to the arrest of woman who fired several rounds into her estranged boyfriend’s car.
Brooksville Police say 32-year-old Jennifer Catherine Snell was in a verbal argument with the victim outside the Marathon Gas Station in Wiscon Road. During the altercation, Snell pulled a 9mm handgun and followed the victim back to his car. As he drove away, Snell fired at least five rounds into the back of the victim’s car. Snell then drove her car into the side of the victim’s car, pushing it into a tree line, say officials.
The following day, Snell was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault with a vehicle, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and improper display of a firearm – all domestic related.
Snell remains behind bars at the Hernando County Jail on a $63,000 bond.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
