Woman Who Crashed Into Local Bar Injured Her Own Brother – Motive Under Investigation
REGIONAL – Acts of violence topped local headlines over the past weekend, with one injured in a drive-by shooting in Spring Hill, a fatal double shooting in Dade City, a double armed robbery in Weeki Wachee and Homosassa, and a DUI crash at a local bar that has some people wondering if it could have been more than just an accident.
RNRF broke the news within minutes of each incident and reported the facts as they developed. But one case has state investigators looking into the motive of an intoxicated woman who drove her truck into a local bar, injuring her own brother.
Just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday, RNRF reported that a pickup truck had slammed into Jersey’s Hometown Tavern, injuring 26-year-old Richard William Seeberger (ORIGINAL REPORT). While on the scene, patrons began making statements to RNRF that the driver, 30-year-old Ashley Lynn Seeberger, was the victim’s brother and that she may have inadvertently injured Richard, instead of her “intended target,” 40-year-old Timothy Allen Burrage. None of the patrons on scene were willing to go on record and their claims have not been confirmed by officials, but they all made one common statement; that Timothy Burrage and Ashley Seeberger were dating, and had recently broke up.
One patron told RNRF that Ashley had just left BB MaGee’s in Hudson after a night of drinking, and then drove to Jersey’s at closing time. That’s when witnesses say Ashley drove her pickup truck into the building where Burrage and Seeberger were standing outside. Richard sustained traumatic injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown at this time. Ashley was also transported for treatment but the severity of her injuries is unknown. Burrage walked away uninjured.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Ashley displayed signs of being intoxicated at the time of the crash; subsequently, a blood draw was ordered to verify her Blood Alcohol Content. The report also states that Ashley drove her vehicle in a careless and negligent manner.
Ashley was already on probation for a 2015 DUI out of Pasco County and had just pled guilty to the offense in August of this year.
Officials have confirmed that an investigation is underway into other factors outside of the alleged DUI Crash. The
Ironically the pickup truck involved in the crash is registered to her estranged boyfriend, Timothy Burrage.
We have been unable to reach Ashley or Timothy for comment.
We will bring more on this story as new information develops.
UPDATE: 4:45 P.M. – Within minutes of running our story, Richard Seeberger contacted RNRF to provide a statement regarding the incident.
Richard tells RNRF that he received 50 staples in his head but did not want to elaborate further on other possible injuries.
Richard says the incident was just an accident and that his sister did not intentionally try to run over anyone.
