100K Bond for Man Charged with Deadly Hit and Run

HERNANDO – A Pinellas County man is behind bars today, after a near two month investigation led to his arrest in connection with a fatal hit and run accident that occurred last May.

Officials say 22-year-old Sterling Wilson Hubbard of St. Petersburg struck and killed 20-year-old Emma M. Keown of Clermont, while she was skateboarding along Gulf Blvd in Madera Beach on May 8th.

Hubbard was arrested at a relative’s home in Hernando County and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death. He remains behind bars, held on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing, say officials.
