SPRING HILL (PASCO) – Sad news to report this evening, after reports that a 2-year-old child drowned while playing with a 6-year-old sibling.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the victim’s Parents heard the older child screaming and found the younger child in an above-ground pool at their residence. Fire Rescue responded to the 14900 block of Little Ranch Road and transported the child to a local hospital where the child was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m.
The child’s identity has not been released at this time.

In this state you need a license to do just about any thing except to have children. What the hell was the adult thinking to have something like this happen. Its summer in Florida and now we have the usual, children to die in locked autos, unattended around water, what gives?
People with aboveground pools please remove your ladder when not using your pool! Very sad for the family, life is just not the same after losing a child.

So sad could have been prevented why warrant the parents out there supervising for god sakes it was a six and a two-year-old in the pool by themselves what is wrong with these parents nowadays I’m a parent myself and I would never think to leave my children alone in a pool specially when I know they can’t swim I pray that the six-year-old doesn’t blame themselves it was not their responsibility to watch that 2 year old
For all who pass judgement—shame on you…just shame on you…..you were not there and do not know the circumstances at all…does it say anywhere in the article that they were playing IN the pool? No it says they were playing…children will be children and accidents happen….can anyone please tell me that they keep both eyes on all children at all times? Or do you know for a fact your children are playing on the floor while youbgo to the bathroom.or switch the laundry? Wow dont start this crap this summer drowning kids blaming it on someone else even though. Accidents do happen but dont do this crap all year because if so further. Investigation. Is needed. An don’t. Start leaving these babies toddlers. Infants in the car claiming you forgot if u dont want the kids just put them up for adoption. Get help dont kill these stories. Always come in. I saw this little guy just a few days ago. He was playing with his family and WEARING A LIFE VEST! everyone is so quick to pass judgement. Shame on you all.
smh and shameonyou, well if he was being supervised responsibly and the parents were doing the right thing,.. one simple question… how did the child drown? you remove ladders, pool covers, pool alarms, door alarms and locks, pool fencing, etc. etc. Coming from a parent with 2 kids and a pool. Youre the parent, you have to make the right choices and last I checked a 6yr old is not life guard material. Dont justify bad decisions with irrational thinking.

Food for thought-u were there….you saw exactly what happened thanks for teaching prevention tips and helping me understand that a 6 year old should not be a lifeguard….I had no idea….so u know the kids were in the pool by themselves? Psychic or something!

I’m the grandmother of the little boy that drown first I want to think everyone for all your prayers. Now since everyone else wants to blame the parent for this tragic accident in my family they was Not Playing in the pool unsupervised number one and second of all I don’t wish this on knowone our family is grieving and the mother that you choose to slander is a amazing mother so please hold each other tight because you never know when God will come calling God bless all of you
My sympathy to the family and friends of this baby, horrific accident. I can’t believe it either the posts, no one knows what happened we do know a baby lost his life. You can always count on foodforthought to give you instructions just read an article and he knows everything., places himself in every article as being the expert. Kinda feel sorry for him, must have low self esteem and unhappy life. Soar with angels little one.
