Chaotic Incident at NCT Leads to Urgent Response by Deputies - UPDATE
BROOKSVILLE – There aren’t many details at this time but just before 11:00 a.m. this morning, several deputies responded to Nature Coast Technical High School, after a frantic call from a law enforcement officer at the school.
Officials say the scene is still active and cannot provide many details at this time.
There are unconfirmed reports that a subject was out of control inside the school and a Deputy was attempting to subdue him.
RNRF arrived on the scene just as several deputies were escorting the subject out of the school and towards a patrol car.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis was seen running ahead of the group but it is unknown if he was directly involved in the incident.
We have not been able to reach a representative with Hernando County Schools for comment.
UPDATE: 5/29/2015, 2:10 P.M. - According to a Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson, the incident involved a 14-year-old while male student, who was attempting to leave the campus. Officials say the boy made several statements that he wanted to harm himself. Due to the boys very large stature, multiple units to respond to detain him.
Sheriff Nienhuis was in his vehicle and responded as back-up.

Sheriff is an amazing man.
Maybe it was a crazy parent ,or a employee who got pink slipped !!!!! Maybe not a student at all. Lol
Or maybe it’s a boy going through emotional struggles and crying out for help(attention), SMH… Good old critical thinkers always plundering up nonsense… Prayers for the boy in hopes that he gets the help he seeks!!

I doubt the sheriff just happened to be in his car so he responded or at least I would like to think he showed up because it involved a school incident that could have turned out a lot worse. Nice to see the hands on approach either way though.

Tony, This county is mild compared with Pasco and Hillsborough County. Just google crime statistics per capita. Our crime rate here is actually very low. We just happen to have RNRF doing an awesome job keeping us informed.
What is so incredibley sad is that this kid felt so broken insude that he contemplated hurting himself…. The parents must be beyond sad. let all have a bit of empathy , shall we?!
