Last Tuesday, RNRF brought you news of a Central High School student who was air-lifted to a trauma center after sustaining injuries from a motorcycle accident. It was confirmed that the student was Central Bears quarterback Sebastian Rivera.

Here is the original story: Central High Student in Critical Condition after early morning crash

It is with a heavy heart, we inform you that Sebastian has passed away today from injuries sustained in the crash.

Friday, all Hernando County football teams wore #3 decals on their helmets to honor their injured friend, and the students all wore white to school in a show of support for him.

There was a moment of silence before the Central - Weeki Wachee game and both teams lined the field for a prayer.

The outpour on social media was truly something to behold. #PrayFor3 took over twitter and Facebook and high school programs throughout the state had poured in their well wishes.

I had the privilege to interview Rivera a few times, and I had nothing but respect for him. He was always polite and the respect he gave was admirable for a young man of his age.

On behalf of the staff here at RNRF, our prayers and condolences go out to the Rivera family, his teammates and friends.

If you would like to help the Rivera family during this time, a Go Fund Me Page has been established and you can find it here: Sebastian Rivera Go Fund Me
