Several Vehicle Accidents Across the County
HERNANDO – There are numerous reports of accidents occurring right now in various locations across the county.
The first is a three vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Forest Oaks Blvd and Thunderbird Ave in the eastbound lanes. There is significant road blockage at this time but no word on the exact number of injured.
Another accident occurred on Cortez Blvd and Broad Street, where two vehicles collided but there are no reported injuries at this time.
A third, more serious accident occurred at the intersection of County Line and US-41, where several people are reported injured, in a four vehicle crash at that intersection. Both Pasco and Hernando County Officials are assisting with that accident.

People really can’t drive around here it’s unreal !
people need to stop texting and driving Im amazed at the amount of people i see every day texting while driving young and old nothing is that important that it cant wait til you can pull over to a safe place or wait til you are not driving

Texting? Yes its an issue but dont forget shaving, stuffing ones face with food, yelling at the kids in the back seat completely turned around, being under the influence of medications, lacking proper motor skills, singing and dancing to the radio hands off the steering wheel arms moving side to side, reading, digging through the center console while driving, writing down personal notes, driving with bald tires or brake pads that already were so worn they are now digging into the rotors, people that are so sleepy they fall asleep at traffic light or while driving, brake lights out, busted head lamps, the person with so much junk loaded in the vehicle that there is no field of vision front to back or to the side, the cocktail hound lush that has thinks after 10 beers or martinis that one has the ability to drive w perfect coordination, Thats less than 30 seconds of thinking, give me a few minutes and I can name over a 100 things people do on the daily that makes me shake my head and think yeah our society is borderline incompetent.. turn on the car turn off the brain. I think many people subscribe to that logic.
I’ve never lived in a county that’s had as many auto crashes as here in Hernando County. This has become an everyday occurrence and is simply horrendous. They should rename Hernando County “Crash County”. Proceed at your own risk.
Just the other day, I was making a right-hand turn onto Anderson Snow, heading to the new Walmart. The light was red, but there was no traffic flowing through, so I made the right. Someone that wasn’t paying any attention literally came out of nowhere and came within INCHES of side-swiping me. Where this person came from, I have no idea, because I looked in EVERY direction and the intersection was clear.
The number of accidents I have avoided are too numerous to count. Someone is looking out for me from above, I haven’t had a single accident in this county…..knock on wood.
